Mayors Biography

Engr. Romeo A. Villaceran came from humble beginnings. He was a boy who worked odd jobs to just to make ends meet. A simple probinsyano with big dreams always on his mind especially during his daily 10km walk to and from school. He was given the opportunity to be a working student at a local college in Cebu City. From his hard work, dedication and perseverance he earned a degree in Civil Engineering and soon reached his goal to become a licensed civil engineer.

In 1997 he decided to open his own construction company. With his love for challenges, nothing was impossible. From a small construction firm, he built the foundation through hard work, rising to the top and being one of the biggest contractors in the province.

With his success in business, he applied the same determination in politics. He was elected the Barangay Captain for Brgy. Maalat in 2020. During his term as Barangay Captain, some of his noteworthy achievements was the beautification of the barangay, the development of the Maalat Baywalk and the construction of the new barangay hall.

In his first and current term as mayor, he was able to implement several projects that has benefited the municipality.
